Alaska Weather

Weather impacts everything in our lives. It can be fascinating and create devastation. Weather monitoring is usually a short-term focus, while climate monitoring has a long-term focus. In many cases, we need to think about both. The US Weather Service is a critical supplier of weather and climate information. They are also a key partner in many of our climate related projects. In Alaska, the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities also operates an important resource, the Road Weather Information System (RWIS) Network.
